Built in 1954, the 537-metre-long bridge was long overdue for structural integrity and seismic resilience upgrades. Construction began in the fall of 2019 and finished in 2021. With the sheer number of cars travelling over the bridge at any given time and large number of pedestrians, Securiforce came up with a security plan that tackled the high-profile dynamic of the site. Utilizing its Live video monitoring system, Securiforce was able to have its trained monitoring operators watch camera feeds in real-time for the construction laydown area, under the bridge. On the top of the bridge, Securiforce guards were actively scanning the bridge and making incident reports of any unusual activity found. Several times during the length of the project, Securiforce guards detected and stopped individuals from stealing from the site or throwing materials over the bridge.
