The Ministry of Education and Child Care announced the addition of 190-seats at Ruth King Elementary and 190-seats at David Cameron Elementary. The announcement of capital funding outside of the budget cycle is welcome relief to our school district that has grown over 40% in the last fifteen years. This year was no exception to our pattern of explosive growth as we welcomed over 499 new students for the 2023/24 school year.
The custom prefabricated additions will get students into classrooms quicker. With sustainable and energy-efficient designs, the additions align with the Province’s CleanBC targets and meet B.C.’s enhanced energy requirements.
